Privacy by design: How Lytics offers flexible data storage and access without compromising security

Marketing attribution and conversion tracking- how to ensure data privacy

At Lytics, we understand the considerations influencing your data storage and access strategy. We know from recent IAB data that only 60% of CDP users are satisfied with the technology’s ability to meet their business needs. And we know that for many businesses, the biggest hurdle today is privacy, as well as the flexibility and agility to maintain security throughout regulatory, market, and data changes.

Lytics deployment models are available to ensure our CDP does meet your needs, and checks all boxes related to privacy, security, and compliance, across even the most stringent of verticals.

What do we mean when we talk about “deploying” Lytics?

When we refer to Lytics deployment options, we’re speaking to the available environments for maintaining data processing, access, and storage for customer profiles and information. For customers looking to implement our CDP, we offer the flexibility to control both where these systems are hosted as well as the associated level of support available for maintaining the systems. This flexibility comes in the form of three deployment options.

Under the hood, Lytics is a complicated system. It requires a variety of technical systems to be configured and maintained in order to surface the end product that our customers have grown to rely on. Lytics’ cloud deployment options include three tenant offerings for maximum flexibility, security, and scalability of your data infrastructure.

*All Lytics deployment options run exclusively on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The deployment options: Multi-Tenant, Single Tenant, and Customer Tenant

1. Lytics Multi-Tenant: Standard Deployment

For our standard deployment option, we provide a shared multi-tenant environment for our customers. Resources are dedicated to groups, or clusters, of accounts in order to ensure enterprise level performance at scale. This deployment offering supports optional region control in support of security or regulatory requirements for select markets such as EU and APAC.

2. Single Tenant Deployment

Lytics Single Tenant Deployment offers a fully-managed instance of the Lytics CDP on dedicated resources. This means if regulatory concerns and compliance are a challenge for your business, Lytics now offers a fix that increases the flexibility of server location (i.e. Canada, Singapore), and offers a range of benefits necessary to meet even the most demanding compliance requirements — all run in a fully-managed environment.

In contrast to a shared environment where, though uncommon, load caused by other accounts can have an impact on performance our private instance comes with the added peace of mind of dedicated resources. These accounts are in their own cluster and have no risk of any performance degradation unrelated to their own usage.

In addition, private instances gain advanced region control which allows for more granular control of server location such as Canada which is not on the standard region control list of supported regions.

3. Customer Tenant Deployment

In regulated industries like financial services and healthcare, it’s critical that organizations remain in complete control of budgeting, resource allocation, and permissions, as well as deeper access to hosting and performance-related metrics. That’s why Lytics Customer Tenant model offers a full deployment of the Lytics CDP in a business’ own instance of Google Cloud (GCP), as a single tenant. For customers with more stringent security and/or control requirements, this deployment option uses the customer’s own environment to host all core services.

Lytics is also the only CDP that can be quickly deployed and run fully on Google Cloud: fueling digital transformation in highly regulated industries with the most privacy-secure approach to data management.

This option comes with a great deal of benefits related to control and security which may greatly reduce the red tape required for highly regulated verticals such as Financial Services without sacrificing all of the comforts associated with our initial deployments. It is important to note that this deployment option may result in longer than normal turn around times when it comes to support due to potential access limitations. In addition there will be a lift on the customer end when it comes to configuration of the instance itself.

*When evaluating Single Tenant over a Customer Tenant deployment model, note that Customer Tenant support will be slower, due to the need for Lytics to request access to the project, and you will need to manage more of the Cloud Engineering ( e.g. DNS ) compared to Single Tenant.

The benefits of having deployment flexibility (powered by Google Cloud)

Google Cloud’s security model, world-scale infrastructure, and unique capability to innovate help some of the top enterprises around the world maintain security and compliance. Now, Google Cloud customers can take advantage of the same secure-by-design infrastructure, built-in protection, and global network that Google uses to protect the information, identities, applications, and devices of their users — with Lytics. The Google Cloud stack builds security through progressive layers that deliver true defense: in depth and at scale.

Lytics’ newest collaboration with Google Cloud — the launch of our Single Tenant and Customer Tenant deployment options — will help Lytics improve customer experiences with unparalleled data security, privacy control, and governance over their data.

This means enterprise companies can now have multiple methods to adopt the Lytics CDP to unify and activate customer data while addressing data privacy requirements under regulations like General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Not only this, but it’s all possible using their own privacy and security posture supported within the Google Cloud. All the benefits of Lytics CDP, but with full control over the environment and data.
