Getting behavioral data to maximize email conversions

Lovepop wanted more than the ability to use past purchase data to determine what products to recommend to customers. They also wanted to use data from visitors browsing their ecommerce site to convert customers who did not purchase by showing them products they were most likely to buy. Their goal was to turn lookers on their Shopify site into buyers by following up with emails with personalized product recommendations.

2x lift in email engagement and 14% increase in sales during trial

Before fully deploying Lytics, Lovepop opted for a 30-day Try Lytics trial to focus on the goal of personalizing their Iterable email campaigns. As a Shopify user, Lovepop could also leverage product data in Lytics’ content collections to identify which products visitors viewed but did not purchase.

During the trial, the Lytics’ team set up a control vs. exposed test of 500,000 customers. Half of the visitors saw content recommendations generated by Lytics using its integration with Shopify and Iterable. The result was a 14% increase in sales and a 2x lift in engagement for customers exposed to Lytics recommended products in emails and on-site.

Now Lovepop drives more email clicks with engaging content. Lovepop Director of Performance Marketing, Jake Marston, explains they can convert a higher percentage of customers who click on email links because they see more relevant product options.
